Summary of Qualifications
-
26 years of experience developing, supporting,
and managing computer applications. A
consistent record of delivering high quality software systems on time and
within budget that can easily be extended as requirements evolve.
-
Emphasis on engineering applications for the oil
industry (drilling, completions, and production) and on
decision support
systems that extract information from databases and present graphs and tables.
-
Eight years as owner of Wedelich Consulting,
providing software design and development services. Eight years as president of a company
providing well engineering software.
-
Have an in-depth understanding of the people and
technical issues that make successful development of
computing applications very challenging.
Understanding of the SEI process maturity model and the benefits of
object oriented methods. Experience with
a wide variety of computer languages, operating systems, development tools, and
computing tools. Developed software for
worldwide use.
Accomplishments & Technical Experience
-
Developed a user interface
application
framework/development toolkit for technical drilling applications using Visual
Basic. Ten applications have been
implemented, including hole cleaning, torque/drag, dynamic pressures during
pipe trips, temperature/hydrate prediction, and gravel packing. A multiple
window architecture is used, with an input wizard to traverse input forms. Graphic and tabular results are easily
accessed from toolbar buttons.
Input forms often include a graphic view of
input data, including a
well sketch. Developed ActiveX text box and grid
custom controls for data entry in different unit systems. System includes a wells data model and a
catalog data model. Data
concurrency between multiple applications is handled with an ActiveX server
program. Includes XML based import/export.
-
Developed a three-tier
decision support program to present business
information in charts and tables. The middle tier ActiveX server uses ADO to
connect to an Oracle database. Multiple themes are used in the client
application for different information types (financial, activity based
costing, equipment performance); tool bars are used for data selection,
including a drop-down outline control. Summary
variation tables are presented
using an outline-grid derived control for exception reporting; grid cells are
linked to trend graphs. A history bar remembers prior graph requests;
selection requests can be saved into a file, edited, viewed, printed, or used
to create presentation files for a web site.
-
Developed a program for design and analysis of
coiled tubing used in workover applications.
-
Restructured an
Access application for a well services company. Data model
includes client information, proposals, invoices and technical job data.
Developed a companion application for field analysis with injection of tracers
and sampling of production wells.
-
President of Enertech Computing. Software business grew from $250K to
$1.6M, from 1 mainframe product to 9 PC based applications, and from 9 clients
to 75 clients worldwide.
-
Developed QA test plans for both engineering calculations and user
interface components to test new feature development and maintain current
capability.
-
Coordinated testing and designed communications software for real-time
pipeline leak detection system. System compares transient pipeline analysis
with SCADA sensors.
-
Developed scheduling/project management system for a major construction
engineering firm.
